Wow! 76 beanies! We have never seen so many beautifully knitted beanies! Thank you so much for all the lovely handmade jerseys, dresses, tracksuits and knitted toys that KidZAid received this week from Westville Methodist Church. Just in time for autumn.

It was combined with another donation of children’s clothing and is all ready for delivery and distribution to our 4 beneficiaries.

The Community Outreach Centre’s Early Childhood Development Creche at Luganda was the happy recipient of handmade wooden toys made by the Woodcrafters of Pinetown, “Zulu” dolls made by a donor in Australia and books and fantasy play clothes donated by the Weaver’s Nest, Highbury.

Profiles Hair & Beauty Lounge, Field’s Centre, Kloof, hosted a raffle in support of the KidZAid Trust which was generously supported by all their staff and salon clients.

The hamper was beautifully wrapped courtesy of Kloof Florist and consisted of a crate with fancy chocolates, biscuits, wine, olives, nougat, chips and sweets. The happy winner was Yvonne Greig of Kloof.

Candyfloss Creche Children Receive the Gifts from Highbury’s Weaver’s Nest

Don’t you love the smiley girl in yellow? She was the girl who sang “If you’re happy and you know it, stamp your feet” so joyfully.

Weavers’ Nest is Highbury’s co-educational pre-primary school that aims to build a solid foundation for the years ahead. Dedicated teachers encourage a passion for discovery through play. As part of their nurturing environment, these young girls and boys are also taught to reach out to their underprivileged peers. This year, they have chosen to send Christmas gifts to the Children of KidZAids’ beneficiaries.

The Williams Saints Ladies Choir conducted by Ronel Laidlaw-Perks & the Kloof Methodist Church Choir conducted by Tony Olds, accompanied by pianist Priscilla Crundwell, joined forces for an uplifting afternoon of harmonious melodies in support of KidZAid. It must have taken hours of rehearsal to achieve such perfection.

Rebuilding Zwelibomvu Crèche

The Zwelibomvu Drop-In Centre Crèche rondavel was undermined during the April ’22 floods. The wall cracked making the building unsafe for use and an urgent solution had to be found to accommodate the children. A new site was identified and a slab was cast by the Community Outreach Centre.

At their request, KidZAid then facilitated the installation of a Wendy Hut on the new slab to replace the damaged rondavel.

The funding was donated by SizaBantu Piping Systems.
