Embizeni Crèche: Pipes to Redirect Storm Water

A dream of many years has come true for Emelda Kunene, principal of Embizeni Crèche, Shongweni! Piping was installed to redirect storm water flowing though the property, (from the Municipal drain), which was eroding the play ground and vegetable garden.

Once again, a huge shout out to SizaBantu Piping, Westmead. Your generous gift will give 66 children a bigger play area, a safe space when it rains and a larger veggie garden for healthy lunches. Sincere gratitude from the KidZAid Trust!

Special thanks to The Best Book Club members and friends for the R2 000+ needed to provide the tiles for the Embizeni Crèche classroom, Ntshongweni and to Noku for transporting the tiles from Pinetown.

Siyaphumula Old Age Group

Siyaphumula Gogos (grandmothers) help out at Embizeni Crèche with story telling and entertain the children with tales of folklore.
They also meet weekly to do handcrafts together. Using fabric offcuts, the Gogos weave yarn to make rugs & mats which they sell to supplement their pensions. They also collect bread bags & shopping bags to make tightly woven, washable door mats.
